What a time to be alive! Artificial intelligence is entering architecture. Tools such as Midjourney and DALLE-2 revolutionize the thinking process of talented designers. The emergence of these AI tools is just the beginning of this uprising in the creative industry. The rapid manufacturing process is in its infancy and designers are using it to create breathtaking ideas.

As a result, architects are also catching up and the number of ideas generated with it is increasing. Designers such as Tim Fu, Hassan Ragab and Arturo Tedeschi are among the pioneers of these AI-generated works. By writing a text with unique techniques, they get stunning designs from these platforms.

That’s why we also focus on educating those who want to learn these tools. We hosted an in-studio workshop with one of these amazing tutors.

Mid-term architecture workshop

In the Midjourney Architecture studio, attendees learned some of the secrets of rapid manufacturing (the ability to control broadcast model AI) and the intricacies of iterative design evolution.

The first session started with an introduction by Hamid Hasanzadeh on the workshop and the PAACADEMY. Next, Tim started an introduction about his work and how he got involved in AI-generated architecture using Midjourney and DALL-E-2. Tim also showed off some of his artwork and explained the evolution process and workflow of his trending designs on social media.

After the conference, participants were introduced to “Midjourney”. They learned how to set up their accounts and start creating designs right away. After a few minutes, participants showed off their first AI-generated prompt designs, and the results were stunning. Tim says, “Quick crafting is just a small part of AI; many other factors come into play.

Next, Tim Fu started showing his workflow for producing a high-quality, workable design with good detail. At the same time, explain how to prepare a good composition before sharing your works on social media platforms to make them more understandable and realistic. This was all based on a list of criteria he shared with the class to guide them in creating AI-generated architectural designs. Before the end of the session, he explained what attendees should pay attention to when using AI-generated tools and how they can get the right picture. He spoke of the importance of their words in bringing us to their image. He shared advice on the options that the way attendees write prompts gives them.

Session 2 began with an evaluation of the participants’ work. Tim started doing an evaluation based on the criteria he had created before. Participants also joined the evaluation with their comments on the Discord channel.

After the evaluation process, he showed how to edit a work created by Midjourney via Rhino and Grasshopper. After modeling and lecturing on Grasshopper and Rhino, he started talking about how DALLE-2 and Midjourney could be used together to generate an image with the right proportions and how to add and enlarge the background to it. help of SLAB-2.
